Onslow Boating Precinct

Project Overview

A new two-lane boat launching ramp was constructed with a central floating jetty located 150 metres north of the current facility at the Beadon Creek (Onslow) Maritime Facility.

Works also include initial dredging to create deeper waters for safe navigation to and from the ramp, earthworks to form the ramp, and construction of several rock revetment walls.

Four trainees were engaged on the Onslow Boating Precinct project.

Scope of works

The scope of the Onslow Boating Precinct included detailed design of the boat ramp, floating jetty structures, fixtured and associated piles and landside civil works.

Works on the site included:

  • Dredge and dispose of materials
  • Import and place rock materials for the revetment and groyne structures
  • Piling for a boat ramp holding jetty
  • Supply and install all ramp and jetty fixtures
  • Install drainage
  • Carparking area pavements and interface with existing roads, surface treatments and line marking
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Surveying
